Frimont S.p.A.
Frimont
S.p.A. is the biggest and older
European manufacturer of icemakers.
Equipment is manufactured in its plant
in Pogliano Milanese (Milan) and is
sold under the three different brand names
of Scotsman, Simag and Barline.
Each of the three brands sell their own
range and have separate commercial
organizations.
Scotsman
Ice Systems is the world’s most
appreciated brand for icemakers and lead the
market. Scotsman pieces of equipment are
built in three different plants around the
world. The range manufactured in Italy is
sold mainly outside the Americas and
designed according to the tastes and needs
of the clients of these geographical areas,
which require smaller units.
Frimont
S.p.A. was founded in 1964 by Mr.
Emanuele Lanzani (who, still, is the
CEO) and acquired by the Scotsman Industries
Company in 1969. In 1992 Frimont acquired
SIMAG, a quite succesful competitor, by the
ALI Group. The Simag
Brand had a well appreciated
product range and many happy
customers. That is why Simag has been kept
alive and autonomous from Scotsman.
Bar-Line
is a bargain price range of products. The
brand was introduced as an answer to a
widespread need for cheap, small and
compact units for small independent
bar-tenders and kiosks.
